Venetian or vertical blinds, which should I choose?

Venetians suit standard windows where you want fine light control from horizontal slats. Verticals suit sliding doors and wide openings because the vanes draw sideways out of the walkway. Most Riverina homes end up with a mix: venetians in wet areas and offices, verticals across door openings.

What are day-night blinds?

A day-night (double roller) blind puts two blinds in one bracket: a sunscreen layer that keeps daytime privacy while you keep the view, and a blockout layer for sleep and evening privacy. You run one or the other depending on the time of day.

Are venetian blinds good for bathrooms and kitchens?

Aluminium venetians are one of the best choices for wet areas: the slats wipe clean, there is no fabric to hold moisture, and tilting the slats gives privacy without shutting out light. If you want a timber look in a wet area, choose a timber-look composite slat rather than real timber.

Can these blinds be motorised?

Day-night and roller styles motorise well with Somfy or Acmeda motors, controlled by remote or smart-home app. Verticals and panel glides are usually operated manually by wand or cord. We will recommend the right mix for the rooms you want automated at the in-home measure.
