Custom curtains for Temora & regional NSW homes

Sheer, translucent, blockout and thermal-lined curtains in every modern heading style — measured in your home, sewn to fit your window, installed with the right track for your ceiling.

Which curtain heading and fabric suits your space?

Three header styles dominate AU residential curtains: S-fold (modern), pinch pleat (traditional), eyelet (casual). Fabric weight then decides the drape and light control.

S-Fold heading

Continuous S-shaped waves give a fluid, modern drape. Carriers spaced ~80-120mm apart on a ceiling-mounted track. Most popular choice for new builds and renovations.

  • Modern, soft fold profile
  • Ceiling-mount tracks
  • Best with medium-to-heavy fabric

Pinch pleat heading

2-finger or 3-finger pleats give a heavier, more formal drape. Stitched permanently into the heading. Best with rod-and-ring or traverse-track hardware.

  • Traditional formal aesthetic
  • 2-finger or 3-finger options
  • Heavier draping profile

Eyelet heading

Reinforced metal rings (grommets) slide directly over a curtain rod. Most casual + lowest cost. Best for lighter fabrics and contemporary rooms.

  • Casual contemporary look
  • Rod-mounted (no track)
  • Lower cost option

Custom Curtains — frequently asked

How much do custom curtains cost in Australia?
Custom curtains typically run $200–$600 per linear metre of track (plus the cost of the track itself), depending on heading style and fabric weight. A standard living-room sliding door (3.2m wide) in S-fold with mid-weight fabric commonly quotes $1,200–$2,400 fully made + installed.
S-fold vs pinch pleat — which is better?
S-fold gives a modern, fluid drape that suits contemporary homes and works best with medium-to-heavy fabric on a ceiling-mounted track. Pinch pleat gives a more formal, traditional look that suits heritage homes and pairs naturally with rod-and-ring hardware. Personal aesthetic decides; both are durable.
Do you supply thermal-lined curtains?
Yes. Thermal lining adds about R 1.0-1.5 to a curtained window — meaningful in cold-snap NSW Tablelands winters or hot western summers. We recommend thermal lining on south-facing bedrooms in cold regions and west-facing living rooms in hot regions.
Can curtains be motorised?
Yes — Somfy Glydea and Acmeda Skyline motors fit ceiling tracks and open/close curtains via remote, wall switch, or smart-home app. Especially useful for floor-to-ceiling glass walls and bedroom blockout curtains synchronised with morning alarms.
How long do custom curtains last?
Quality custom curtains last 10-20 years depending on fabric and sun exposure. South-facing windows in living rooms see the most UV; we recommend rotating heavy curtains end-to-end every 5 years to even out fade. Tracks and rods rarely need replacement within that lifetime.
Sheer or blockout — should I have both?
Many homes choose double-layer curtains: a sheer translucent layer behind a heavier blockout layer, both on a double ceiling track. Sheers go up during the day for diffused light + privacy; blockouts close at night. Worth the extra cost in bedrooms and front living rooms.
